UPCOMING: AL BOLEA MEMORIAL RIDE AND BARBEQUE

In 2006, Al Bolea passed away from Myelofibrosis. Every year since, his friends and family have gathered to celebrate his life and raise money for MPD research. The Al Bolea Memorial Ride and BBQ will take place on Sunday, August 16th 2009.

The scenic rides will be 37.5 and 53 miles and will begin at the Lexington Center Municipal Parking Lot in Boston. Look for ride updates posted here.

Tom Fortmann will host an after party at his home located a short distance from the starting point of the ride. Blue Ribbon Barbecue (a favorite of Al’s), beer, wine, soft drinks and homemade deserts will be available for a small cost at the party (approximately $10). NPR Car Talk’s Tom Magliozzi will also be present for a meet & greet.
