This is a tattoo I got for my daughter who has an MPN. Two years ago she was diagnosed with essential thrombocythemia at age five. Despite the shock of the diagnosis, she is a happy seven year old and is doing well. Emotionally, as her mother, I have struggled to accept her diagnosis, and have struggled to accept that my daughter has a chronic, life-long ilness.

Now after two years our lives have moved on. I’m happy to say she is still doing ‘okay’. September is blood cancer awareness month. To commemorate our journey of helping her to live with a blood cancer, I wanted to do something meaningful for my daughter, Grace, who is the love of my life. She is living with ET and doing fine!
